Lloyd Silver, CFA · Buyer Representation
Buy the Right Business, the Right Way
An experienced advocate on your side of one deal — weighing what it’s worth, shaping the offer and terms, and negotiating it to close.
One Deal, Entirely on Your Side
In almost every deal you’re looking at, the seller has someone experienced working to get them the best price and terms. Most buyers have no one doing the same for them.
Buyer Representation puts someone with that same experience on your side of one specific deal: valuing it, shaping the offer, negotiating it, and guiding it to close. That’s the whole service, not a step that happens after a match turns up.
It works the same whether you found this deal yourself or Lloyd brought it to you. Either way, once you’re represented, yours is the only interest he’s working for — through the offer, the terms, and the close.
Know Exactly What You’re Buying
- 01A grounded valuation, not a hopeful guess.
Before you make an offer, you get an independent read on what the business is genuinely worth, and whether the asking price actually reflects it.
- 02Terms that make the deal work, not just the price.
Earnout structure, what happens after close, how and when funds actually reach you: these decide whether the deal you signed is the deal you got. Lloyd shapes the offer around all of it, not just the number.
- 03Someone who’s done this before, running the negotiation.
From the first counter to the final signature, an experienced hand manages the back-and-forth and the mechanics that carry the deal all the way to close.
- 04The right people, when you need them.
Lender, attorney, and CPA relationships built from real deal work, brought in exactly when your deal calls for them.
The Person Representing You
Experience That’s Closed Hundreds of Deals

Lloyd Silver, CFA, is also a Certified Business Intermediary, with hundreds of closed transactions on both the buy side and the sell side. The CFA charter is one of the most demanding credentials in finance; fewer than one in ten candidates who start the program ever earn it. That depth is what shapes the read on your deal.
The real asset is pattern recognition. Lloyd has seen what quietly kills a deal after the handshake, and what actually holds up through closing.
He also brings working relationships with M&A attorneys, SBA lenders, and CPAs — the people a real deal needs, built from deals he’s closed, not a directory he looked up.

Houston JohnsonPriced Around Your Deal, Not a Retainer
Fees are shaped around the deal in front of you, not a retainer to go looking. The success side is structured so Lloyd does better when your deal does: a price he helped negotiate down, not up. That’s different from a fee that only rewards a higher number.
If there’s commission to share from the seller’s side, it offsets what you’d pay. Same side, same outcome.

You’re still looking.
You want the right fit found, and then represented, start to finish, not just a notification when something matches.
No capital floor.
There’s no published minimum — representation is scoped deal by deal, and smaller deals you bring are welcome.

Questions Buyers Ask
The questions buyers ask most when they’re weighing representation on a deal.
- I already found a business. Can you represent me on it?
Yes. That’s one of the two ways a deal reaches Buyer Representation, and it’s just as standard as one Lloyd flags for you. Once you’re in, the representation is identical: an independent valuation, the offer and terms, negotiation, and guiding it to close.
- How is this different from just being notified when something matches?
Being notified is the first half of a lighter service. Buyer Representation means Lloyd is actively on your side of one specific transaction: valuing it, shaping the offer, negotiating it, and carrying it to close. It’s representation, not a heads-up.
- What does it cost?
It depends on the deal, and Lloyd will walk you through it before you commit to anything. Fees are structured around the specific transaction rather than a fixed retainer, with the success side aligned to you getting a better deal, not a bigger one. If there’s commission to share from the seller’s side, that offsets what you’d pay.
- Do I need a minimum amount of capital?
No published minimum. Buyer Representation is evaluated deal by deal, and smaller acquisitions you bring yourself are welcome. It’s scoped to a single deal, so it scales to what that deal actually requires.
- Doesn’t the seller already have someone handling this?
Usually, yes, and that person works for the seller’s outcome, not yours. Buyer Representation puts someone with the same experience on your side of the same deal.
